ThunderGypsy is excited to be BACK as headline act for the IDA COX MUSIC SERIES in Beautiful Downtown Toccoa, GA
Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby said that the Main Street Department has wanted to have a music event in the downtown for some time. “We have such a rich history of music here and we wanted to do something to help showcase music in Toccoa and Stephens County,” said Crosby.
Crosby said that the series is named after Ida Cox, who was born Ida Prather in Toccoa before going off to make her mark in the music world in the first part of the 20th century. “She started as a vaudeville performer and was one of the pioneers of the blues genre of music,” said Crosby.
Concerts in the series takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. each Saturday night in downtown Toccoa on Doyle Street from Sage Street to Pond Street. Crosby said people can expect a wide variety of music during the series. “Every week, we will have different groups performing and a different genre will be highlighted during that particular evening,” said Crosby.
A local group will start the show, followed by a headline act. The concerts are free to attend.
